Week 6 Report: The Great Delay (not Delea)
Thank you to all for participating in the first ever Delea's Delayed Report sponsored by Mike Delea. Last week's report was delayed due to strikes from the Payesko camp in Florida. So, this will almost certainly be a report to forget but we'll recap week 6 anyway.
In trade news, Vinny dealt picks for the first time all year in a deal for Patrick Mahomes. His team was most likely top dog anyway, but he's solidified at the top of the pack for now. Walt beat Nick and is officially the only team with playoff aspirations that will also have a first round pick. Zach pulled off the sweat win of the year in a tight game against Conlan, who didn't manage to stop the skid in week 6. The tank off of the week was lost/won by Tom against Mike, while Brodie blew too much wad and dropped 120 to give me some more MHJ cushion.
Quick shoutout to Vinny as our Matchup of the Week winner against PPP. The current toilet bowl competitors, who will compete to NOT have to do a 5 minute standup routine, are projected to be Tim, Killian, Tom and Mike. REMINDER: The draft order (projected below) is decided by MPF, while the punishment (standup routine) is determined by the toilet bowl "winner" - in the toilet bowl, teams advance by losing while winning makes you "safe." With that covered, 🍀BOL🍀 to all Colosseum competitors in week 8 (week 7 decided).
Killian vs. Tim | Tim wins 119.4 to 68.04
Summary: In a matchup of the Tank Goblin (Tim) vs. the Tank Gremlin, Marvin's Room returned to form posting a score of 68.04 (almost nice). Tim has had consistent production from his team in unexpected ways, potentially throwing a wrench in his hopes for a top 2 pick.
Conlan vs. Zach | Zach wins 110.7 to 108.9
Summary: Now with multiple warrants for his arrest relating to kidnapping charges he picked up in order to win this game, Zach is officially in the driver's seat in the Colosseum. This game came down to a few critical bad breaks for Conlan, some heaven sent blessings for Zach, and a bed shitting from meme lord Gabe Davis. Zach will be 6-1 heading into a matchup with Delea in week 8.
Nick vs. Walt | Walt wins 149.9 to 132.9
Summary: A classic battle between friends ended in yet another win for Walt & another high-scoring loss for Nick. Walt will be competing for the bye all year, while Nick simply needs to get in with a healthy lineup to have as good a chance as anyone.
Vinny vs. Chris | Vinny wins 121.6 to 102.6
Summary: Vinny won the matchup of the week thanks to big performances from Tyreek, Kyren Williams and CeeDeez Nuts. It was enough to overcome midgame injures to Justin Fields and Kyren Williams, while PPP had D Mont go down to a rib injury right after trading for him. Chris just needs a healthy lineup to get back into the top end of the mix. Shortly after, Vinny traded for Jesus Mahomes and made a dominant roster even harder to beat going into the halfway point of the season.
Mike vs. Tom | Mike wins 79.3 to 61.4
Summary: For tanking fans, this is the equivalent of watching a pitcher throw a perfect game. Delea went sub-80, but Tom comfortably took the L with 4 starters combining for less than 10 points.
Tom trades: Patrick Mahomes
Tim trades: Justin Fields, Jalin Hyatt, 2024 1st Round PIck, 2024 2nd Round Pick, 2024 3rd Round Pick
Summary: A power move from Vinny after resisting the urge to trade any picks for the entire year. This is the type of win now move that should make the league's top dawg hard to beat.
