Week 2: Never Forget Chubb
Week 3 is upon us. Walt, Conlan and Vinny look like the best bets to contend for the 2 byes while the rest of the league looks to shit or get off the toilet. The people spoke, and Big Brother listened: our Matchup of the Week is Vinny @ Walt. That matchup certainly won't disappoint. Vinny will need to strike while the iron's hot as Walt's hot start could get even hotter with Kupp and Kamara returning soon.
Our Big Dog of the Week is none other than our good friend Nick Payesko. To celebrate, Nick has personally asked me to request that the Colosseum sends him as many trade offers as you can this week.
🍀BOL🍀 to all Colosseum competitors in week 3.
Killian vs. Zach | Zach wins 168.5 to 64.2
Summary: I was bedridden for 36 hours following this game. It is rare that a single loss can inspire an organization to immediately tank, but this was one of those rare occasions. Zach was seeing the board like a fantasy virtuoso, getting 168 out of 176 possible points and beating my god damn ass by 100. This is now the vibe until Randy 2.0 is home:
Conlan vs. Mike | Conlan wins 134.3 to 122.7
Summary: Conlan put up another big score, but Mike sneakily made this a game. He really is doing his best to fuck the '24 pick and I have to respect it. Conlan has some question marks at RB2 and flex to iron out, but the top end talent of CMC, Adams, ARSB and Hurts should be too much for it to matter most weeks.
Nick vs. Tim | Tim wins 127.5 to 104.9
Summary: The Geek of the Week DID NOT dissapoint as Tim dropped a suprisingly sweat-free victory on Nick, riding bounce backs from Swift and London. It was an inspiring performance, but after trading away JJ Tim's season should be mostly Ls from here on out in the race for MHJ.
Tom vs. Vinny | Vinny wins 136.7 to 123.8
Summary: This was one of the craziest Monday Night fantasy games you could imagine. A tragic Chubb injury turned what looked like a surefire victory into a comeback for the ages from Vinny via Gremlin Pickens. We'll see if Vinny can ride the momentum into the Matchup of the Week.
Walt vs. Chris | Walt Wins 136.8 to 116.4
Summary: Walt put up yet another dominating victory in week 2, beating Chris with another big game from the Ghost of Mike Evans. Walt will get even more dangerous if Kupp can return healthy and Kamara is back in form.
Tom trades: Christian Kirk, Mike Williams, Rachaad White
Zach trades: Juju Smith-Schuster, Saquon Barkley
Summary: Zach made a big bet on Rachaad White here, and Kirk and Williams should fill in nicely. Tom would have had an RB trio for the ages before Chubb went down, but Ekeler and Saquon will do just fine when healthy. This trade should pay off during the ever-important final weeks of the regular season.
Mike trades: 2024 2nd Round Pick
Tim trades: Jerome Ford
Summary: A nice trade for both sides here. A big season from Jerome would mean good things for Tom's season, and a worse turnout for Mike's side of the trade.
