1st Annual Colosseum Rookie Draft (2024)

Gentleman of the Colosseum, this document took a heinous amount of time. We'll cover anybody that owes buy in, preseason rankings, and everything else in the 2024 Preseason Report that'll come before week 1.

The draft took place in Philadelphia, PA at the residence of Might Compete Later GM, Thomas Merrigan. It was filled with more than a few potential superstars, evidenced by an absurd amount of trading leading up to the draft. I'll say this exact quote for the 100th time - this draft was deeper than Lisa Ann's pocket pussy at WR and QB. There was also a top secret stream of communication formed between the first round drafters, leading to a bit of drama in the 1st round that is explained inside. Finally, we had some commendable dedication to draft remotely by a few who couldn't make it.

Preview

Tom & I are the main benefactors of the aforementioned chaos, and our first round matchup should be more of the same. Tom has been nothing short of the chosen one this season, turning a bleak outlook to end the 23 season into a farm of young talent in 24. His playoff push almost ended in a bye, but he’s ahead of schedule as I’ve said before. I’ll be full of anticipation to see who decides to shit the bed for Rookie Fever on Sunday. It does feel like less than 30 from Saquon leaves me on the outside looking in (Staind).

This side of the bracket should have the most firepower, but it didn’t start off with a bang. Pooper Kupp dropped a zero to start off the week for Tim on TNF. On the bright side, Zach Charbonnet has the backfield to himself so another 40 bomb should make up for that. Conlan has some key injuries that leave some starting spots TBD, but if everyone plays, he’s the favorite to advance here. Especially after Thursday. Whoever advances gets Mike the 1 seed in round 2.

Here we go. I don't know if Walt has ever cared more about an FF matchup in his life - a win means he pushes Nick to a coinflip for TikTok fame. Hard to think there's a greater prize than that he's chased. MATCHUP OF THE WEEK.
